April’s Ipsy Glam bag was a really good mix of products. A little somethin’ for the face, somethin’ for the hair, somethin’ for the eyes, somethin’ for the lips, and….somethin’ else for the eyes.
Let’s go over the items in the bag this month!
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant: I only used less than a dime-sized amount for my whole face, and HOLY EXFOLIATION, BATMAN! The particles in this puppy were a bit more hardcore than I was anticipating! While this is fantastic for use every so often, do not use this bad boy daily unless you’d like all of your flesh peeled off. (But hey, if peely flesh is your bag, I’m not judging.) Retail cost for full-size (I received a sample-size): $78
City Color White Gold Shadow & Highlight Mousse: This is an odd duck. I thought it was a pigment when I opened it, but was surprised to find a very thick, pliable mousse. The color payoff is pretty intense. A little goes a long way. While I confess I don’t think I’d buy this again, it’s an interesting product and unlike anything I’ve ever used. Retail cost for full-size (I received a full-size): $3.99
Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Volumizing Spray Mousse: You guys, this stuff is so freaking cool. You spray a bit on damp roots, and then blow-dry your hair in the opposite direction that it grows. VOLUME LIKE A MOFO. You only need a quick blast to each root section, so I could see this sample lasting me months. Retail cost for full-size (I received a travel-size): $17.95
Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Apple Pink: I had seen Cailyn products at IMATS this year and was intrigued by them, but there was no discount of any kind, so it wasn’t a high priority for me. I was excited to get a FULL-SIZE lip balm in this month’s glam bag! The handle conceals a wee little lip brush (LOOK HOW WEE!) that works perfectly for applying the balm. While the color doesn’t last very long, it really does add a pretty tint to the lips, and the brush helps with precise lines. Retail cost for full-size (I received a full-size): $19
Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet: I’m pretty sure that every gal that opened her glam bag this month clapped with glee upon seeing the words ‘Urban Decay’ in there. This pencil is THE pencil for a smokey eye – hands down. It’s soft, creamy, and oh-so-dreamy. Just beware – this pencil is SOFT (made for blending). Press down too hard and what happened to me will happen to you. SNAP! THERE GOES THE POINT. Retail cost for full-size (I received a travel-size): $20
And there we have it! What did you guys get in your glam bag this month? (Did any of you score that royal blue glitter makeup because OMG it looks heavenly.)
I didn’t even seeeeeee the royal blue glitter makeup! I’ll have to go stalk Ipsy to check it out. I got the Benefit Lollitint which I’m pretty excited about, though I think the color may be a little intense for my cheeks… but I’m going to play with it. I also got the Cailyn balm, UD Velvet pencil and the City Color. Also scored some falsies, which will be perfect for a Girls Night Out this Weekend, though I’m a little jealous of your Big Sexy Hair 🙂
See, the grass is always greener! That Lollitint sounds like perfection, and c’mon – we could always use more falsies. ;D
You HAVE TO check out the blue glitter. It is to die for! Some gal on Ipsy created a winged liner look with it and it’s godly.
