I don’t know what it is about The Little Mermaid‘s Ariel, but she has ALWAYS been my favorite.
I mean, how could you not love this gal with a voice like it came from a freaking angel, but she still remains sassy as hell with her fire-engine red hair and big blue eyes? HER BEST FRIEND IS A FISH, Y’ALL. She talks to crabs and seagulls and loves a good dinglehopper (don’t we all?). I guess this is why I’ve bought so many things over the years with her face printed on it.
You understand then why I couldn’t resist the new Ariel beauty collection from Walgreens. My local store didn’t have all of the goodies you see online, but I couldn’t leave without trying the bronzer and the lashes. (Although you know that kids’ perfume is calling my name and probably smells like hopes and dreams).
Let’s start with the e.l.f. Disney Ariel Bronzer & Mini Kabuki Brush Gift Set.
The bronzer has two different types of powders mixed. The first is a mostly-matte warm brown tone that looks great on skin with yellow undertones. It has the SLIGHTEST of shimmer to it, but that might just be because of the other type of powder – a STUNNING metallic gold. When swirled together, you get a nice, shimmery brown, but I prefer to use these separately. The brown shade is fantastic for contouring, while the shimmery gold makes a gorgeous cheekbone highlight.
I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the quality here. A bit powdery at times, but the color payoff is very nice. Even the kabuki brush is a better quality than I was expecting. Thickly-packed with bristles that are softer than you’d think, it’s the perfect size to use with this bronzer. At $4.99, it’s definitely cheap enough to give it a shot!
And now, the Disney Ariel Lash Kit 1.
If you’ve used Ardell lashes before, you already know – the quality of these lashes is near perfection. Easy to use, flattering on almost everyone. You get two pairs for $7.99 which is a very decent deal. (True, you can get a 4 pack of some Ardell lashes for about $10 on Amazon, but still.) The lashes you get are the 203 lashes, which are densely packed and full with a black band, and the famous Demi Wispies, which are everyone’s go-to lashes. Clear band, fuller on the outside, they’re perfect.
If you’re even half as obsessed with the best Disney gal ever (and don’t argue with me on this one, OKURRR?), get your ass to Walgreens ASAP. This collection is sure to sell out, and it won’t hurt your wallet. Let me know if you’ve tried other pieces from this collection…and tell me what else I “need” to buy. 😉
Ummm I want everything that’s at that link. It’s interesting that it says only two of the items are found in-store. I may just have to scope out my local Walgreen’s after work!
Corinne: ABSOLUTELY make sure to check out the stores! I didn’t get a single item online. The stuff was flying fast, but you just might get lucky!
Omg the packaging is adorable! And the lashes, they’re absolutely insane, especially for the pricepoint… I’ll have to get on taht ASAP! I was also hoping you could help me with smthg. Have you heard of Vain Pursuits? I heard that they were a sort of ipsy but for skincare?
I’ve heard of Vain Pursuits as well! They’re all over the place these days it seems. Haven’t tried them out yet though, I was hoping to come across a few reviews before!
I had actually never heard of Vain Pursuits, but now that I’m looking at the site, it looks fantastic! I’ll do some more research.
