“The weather is hot and girls are dressin’ less. And checkin’ out the fellas to tell ’em who’s best.”
Oh hi! Summer is officially here, so it’s probably the time when you’ll find yourself out and about more often. I mean, if you’re anything like me, I hibernate for most of the winter and then come out blooming like a damn sunflower as soon as the weather hits 70-degrees. The sun is out, and I’m a happy camper. (We’ll ignore the fact that this past June was the wettest in Maryland HISTORY. Still. There was sun. OKAY?)
I made a lil’ video all about my favorite beauty products for summer!
Here’s a closer look at all of the products I mentioned in the video!
LUSH Sea Spray
You about dat beachy hair life? You need this in your….beachy hair life. This spray adds just the right amount of texture without leaving your hair feeling weighed down or sticky. I like to use this as my hairspray, as it gives just a touch of hold, but still leaves your hair feeling great. Plus, THE SMELL YOU GUYS. Citrus, salt, sand. Those added together create the smell of AWESOME on your head.
LUSH Breath of Fresh Air Toner Spray
This is meant to be used as a face toner, but I use it to keep in the fridge to mist my face with good-smelling cool water when it’s balls-hot outside. (And yes, “Balls-Hot” is a scientific term.) It smells good, and is a great refresher throughout the day.
H20 Plus Sea Salt Hydrating Body Gloss
This is such a strange product, but one I’ve become completely addicted to. It’s almost like a body oil, but it adds a really delicate sheen to your skin. (If you have a tan, this stuff would look BANGIN’ over top of it.) Plus, the smell is straight up Salt + Sand + Water. What more can you ask for?
Victoria’s Secret PINK Beach Babe lotion
Okay, so no link for this one, because it’s a bitch to find. BUT! Should you find it, buy it. The smell is intoxicating, but light enough to not be overpowering.
Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Underage Red and LA Splash Liquid Lipstick in Latte Confession
Both of these are my go-to shades all summer. Underage Red is PERFECTION. It is just a long-lasting, classic red that isn’t too drying, but stays put ALL DAY. Latte Confession would look fantastic on ANY skin tone, I’m convinced. It’s peachy, it’s nude, it’s pink, it’s perfect.
NOTE: A few weeks ago, LA Splash’s facilities burned to the ground in a horrible accident. No one was hurt (THANKFULLY), but they have stopped cosmetic production/shipping for a while. Please keep this shade in mind, and order a million tubes of it when they’re back up and running. Anything to get them back on their feet, because they’re a good company.
Sugarpill loose shadows in Goldilux and Penelope
I can’t choose between these two which is the best. Goldilux is a bright, yellow gold that shines like the top of the Chrysler Building. (Kudos if you catch that reference. Also kudos if you’re old enough, like me, to catch it in the first place.) Penelope is a chunkier formula, but the shimmer/shine is INTENSE. Bright bronze-gold. Dust this shizz on your collarbones. You’ll thank me later.
And that’s all she wrote! Tell me in the comments below what your MUST-HAVES for summer are. I’m like an addict that needs a fix.
