Yanno, in the whole time of this blog, I’m not sure I’ve done a true FOTD yet. Times they are a’changing.
I know I sound like a broken record here, kids, but this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag did not let me down. At all. Okay, that’s a partial truth – there was one item I wasn’t into, but the quality of it was still good.
First of all, can we talk about how adorable this month’s actual bag is?! It almost looks like candy or pills, but it’s just abstract shapes. (Remember kids, pills are not candy – capiche?) The bag feels like a better quality than a few other months’ bags. It’s a durable heavy-duty vinyl that’s lined on the inside. I just think it’s dreamy.
The Vita Liberata Luxury Tan Lotion was the only thing I’m not really into. Yes, the quality of it is great, but I’m just personally not into fake-bake cosmetics. Maybe it’ll be more useful to me in the summertime when it’s not 70 degrees one day and snowing the next. (Ah, Baltimore. I love/hate you.)
The Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner Pen is fantabulous so far. If this isn’t a full-size pen, it’s pretty darn close. The tip has such a fine point, and it doesn’t fray like so many other felt-tips seem to. And GIRL – this stuff stays on like crazy. The minute I got it, I did what all makeup addicts do & I swatched it on my hand. That stuff didn’t budge for 24 hours, even after repeated hand washing. (Came off easily with eye makeup remover, but you get my point.) BRIGHT blue and vivid – best.
I was surprised how much I liked this Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready. The formula went on super smoothly, the shade was pigmented with a crazy amount of shine, and it hydrated my lips so well. I will confess that I put this on without a lipliner, and after a few hours, it was basically gone, but with a lipliner, you’d be good to go.
DO YOU SEE THIS?! Yep, a shadow quad made of the most perfect colors for blue-eyed gals and guys ever. The Be a Bombshell Bora Bora Quad has four smooth, shimmery shadows that all perfectly compliment each other. I was shocked at how pigmented these were and how little fallout there was. (Plus, this baby retails at $16, which is already MORE than the cost of your monthly Ipsy bag. Okurr?)
I decided to play around with the Bora Bora quad and the Marvelous Moxie lipstick this morning. At first, the faces started out normal, as they often do.
Then, I started getting all shifty-eyed.
After that, I went for the close-up eye glamour shot.
From there, it went to the “OH MY GOD, IT’S FULL OF STARS” eye.
(Can I get a “whoop whoop” for Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara?!)
…and seriously folks, it was all downhill from there.
I am nothing if not a LADY.
What did you guys think about your Ipsy bag this month? Did you dig it as much as I did? Is there anyone else out there who cannot do a normal “Look how pretty and serious I am!” photoshoot to save their life?
Love this look!
Thanks so much! It has been so long since I really played with makeup – I missed it. 🙂
xoxo
