Like so many other people, I saw the newest trailer for “Catching Fire” and clapped my hands excitedly like a little kid while “SQUEEEE!”-ing. (Wait. You didn’t clap and squee? Liar.) I saw a makeup look in the trailer that was red and black, and thought it was pretty swell. When I looked for more photos of it, I couldn’t help but be awestruck by a different photo instead.

This picture of Katniss floored me. The greens, the jewels – all of it. I tried to recreate it for my newest tutorial.  I’d love to hear what you guys think!

P.S. May I just say…this is only the third time in my life I’ve ever tried to use “proper” lighting for a video. It’s really hard stuff! I have an entirely new appreciation for the gurus and YouTubers that do this more often. That being said, please bear with me – I’m really slowly getting the hang of lighting, and I’m excited that I have a friend visiting soon who is a pro with this stuff – she’s going to give me a hand.
